How does one learn Moodle and experiment with it at no cost and no need for a “server?” Answer: Install Moodle on your PC or Mac. This installation is often referred to as a “sandbox” installation, which allows you to “play” with Moodle! A sandbox serves as an excellent beginning point to mastering Moodle, before or in parallel to a “production” installation on the Internet. This presentation will show you how to install a sandbox Moodle, describe the major installation components, and touch upon plugins, Moodle settings, and CSS.
